IDEA: Organic labeling, not gmo labeling

Hello there and good day. I heard about the movement labeling GMOs. That's great and all BUT.... the big corps have the connections and money to fight it. Organic labeling already has a label. So go with that. Anything that DOES NOT have this label should be more regulated and expensive to produce A-Z. Regulate the bio-enginering, the labs, banking, the chemicals needed to make the products that are used to spray crops, the packaging, shipping, just everything that it takes to create gmos to getting it on your dinner plate. In other words, if it DOES NOT have organic labeling, regulate and tax the *$&# out of everything that is involved with them A-Z. Attack it from different angels, not just one.

add recurring donations

I would donate a small amount every month and this might add up to more than I would donate over the period of a year.

Post the Voting Records of California Representatives on GMO Related Bills

If this website could post the voting records of California representatives on GMO related bills, it would be very powerful motivation/deterrent for the politicians.

destroy gmo's from the inside

I feel we could organize, If we could get 1 million or so people to all purchase 1 share of Monsanto stock, then we might have enough collective voting share to change there business practices, fire the leaders and eventually take over from the inside.

General

Since GMO is a NOVEL organism (plants with added bacterial+viral genetic parts) grown from patented seeds, it is equivalent to drug, with that one difference, it was never tested for a long term safety on humans. All cloned GMO's so far are there for the purpose of application of extremely toxic chemicals which destroy all plants, but not the GMO's (to the point of self-defence and development of 'resistance'). The extinction of biodiversity together with the disastrous environmental pollution are only some of the side effects of the 'approved(??)' GMO production. With all the chemicals already in circulation (even in our bodies, since water and air carry easly the bln's of tons of chemicals), the safest way for everyone is GMOFREEUSA. Only with deep understanding the details of how actually they were introduced, who approved them for what purpose, how much different are they from that what was defined and said as their 'equivalent' and standing TOGETHER for the truth, one can win the GMO lie (about its safety and usefulness).

NON-GMO labeling

Since the GMO's are fighting labeling. Could not the NON-GMO's label their products as such. I know it's not right that they should have to label their products, but I would rather go to the store and look for the words Non-GMO or a symbol on the product then read the whole label. I am already doing that and it takes a very long time to shop. Or does the GMO's have it somewhere in their laws that they can't do this? I Wish we all could find a lawyer that had enough gumson to file a class action suit against all the GMO and affiliated organizations. That's just my thoughts.

Shop only, eat only establishments that guarantee NO GMO's

High fructose corn syrup is being forced out by people refusing to buy it. If we all start buying ONLY Ben and Jerry because it guarantees on the labels they do not use GMO products, or dairy from GMO alfalfa and GMO grain fed cattle.........the other companies will come in line on their own, law or no law.............it is easier to get people to go WITH than to fight lobbyists who have as much money as Monsanto.

Call out the 'no' voters

It's good to thank those that voted for labeling, but I think it's probably more important to condemn those that voted against it.

I wrote this piece during the campaign for Prop. 37 in response to an editorial in the LA Times.

I am proud of this piece and believe that many of its points remain valid so I would like to share it. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52820359/refutingthetimes.html

Other States

How many states are connected to this website besides CA? I'd like to help start something for Ohio.

Farmers need sources of Non-GMO feed for their animals.

Here is a link to a website that provides farmers with sources on Non-GMO feed for their animals: http://www.nongmosourcebook.com/non-gmosourcebook/nongmoanimalfeedsuppliers.php

Labeling GMO's

Hello

I just thought that opposition is so high in the USA by such giants as Monsanto and ADM etc. Wouldn't it be more cost effective to produce a campaign where we encouraged food producers to state they don't contain GMO's and get them certified by a well known agency such as Oregon Tilth? Instead of continuing to bump against the huge wall of corporate Amerika, I think an end around run would be more cost effective.
